Does magnetotherapy have contraindications?

La magnetoterapia è in assoluto una delle terapie fisiche con il minor numero di controindicazioni.

Un rischio specifico è presente per i portatori di pacemaker: una macchina che produce impulsi magnetici intensi compromette e può danneggiare il funzionamento di un pacemaker, perciò è assolutamente vietato utilizzare la magnetoterapia in questa specifica situazione.

Nel caso di una patologia tumorale, la magnetoterapia è controindicata poiché accelera i processi trofici. In presenza di tale patologia è proibita qualsiasi applicazione dell’elettroterapia.

Durante la gravidanza, anche se finora non è stato realizzato nessuno studio in materia, è necessaria molta attenzione, per cui è conveniente escludere l’uso della magnetoterapia.

Come misura di sicurezza, e tenendo presente che ogni macchina ha le sue specifiche caratteristiche in quanto a potenza e frequenza, conviene attenersi a quanto riportato nel manuale d’istruzioni di ogni singolo apparato, prestando attenzione alle sue specifiche controindicazioni, per evitare rischi inutili.

How does magnetotherapy work?

La magnetoterapia ad alta e bassa frequenza funziona grazie al fatto che nel nostro organismo c’è una gran quantità di ioni liberi e molecole elettricamente equilibrate come l’acqua funzionano come dipoli a causa dell’orientamento della loro carica.

Quando queste molecole sono sottoposte ad un campo magnetico, la cui frequenza è regolata in base alla patologia da trattare, se ne accresce il movimento, grazie all’effetto del campo magnetico oscillante: le molecole sono attratte e poi respinte in funzione della loro carica elettrica.

Questo extra-movimento accelera i processi chimici dell’organismo, favorisce l’azione della pompa sodio-potassio e aiuta a regolarizzare gli scambi chimici nei tessuti in cui questa funzione è compromessa da una qualche patologia cronica o infiammatoria.

What are the most important effects of magnetotherapy?

• Relaxing effect on smooth and striated muscles: acts on muscle contractures, relaxing the fibre, and at the same time decompresses the joints on which the affected muscles act, freeing them from excessive pressure. Very effective in pathologies such as effusions or herniated discs.
• Analgesic effect: relaxation of muscle tissue decompresses adjacent tissues, the pain threshold is raised, circulation improves, decreasing pressure on arterioles and venules, helping to curb the inflammatory process.
• Osteogenesis: le analisi con densitometria ossea dimostrano l’effetto stimolante sul trofismo che la magnetoterapia produce nel tessuto osseo. I campi magnetici favoriscono la fissazione del calcio nelle ossa, con molteplici applicazioni in fisioterapia.

Why is magnetotherapy effective against pain?

This effectiveness is not due to a single cause, but to the sum of different biological effects produced by magnetotherapy in the tissues of the human body, especially in the presence of inflammatory processes.

Il rilassamento della muscolatura contribuisce a migliorare la microcircolazione, le fibre lisce si rilassano e si produce un effetto di vasodilatazione. Il rilascio di endorfine eleva la soglia del dolore, mentre una leggera iperemia e maggiore irrigazione sanguigna producono un effetto antiinfiammatorio. Anche la normalizzazione del potenziale elettrico della membrana cellulare contribuisce all’azione della magnetoterapia contro il dolore.

Which magnetotherapy machine to choose?

È consigliabile ricevere una consulenza professionale. In ogni caso, ecco alcune indicazioni utili per scegliere una buona macchina:

• Assicurarsi che la macchina abbia il bollo sanitario CE seguito da 4 cifre, ad esempio “dispositivo medico certificato CE 0051”.
• Verificare che l’apparato eroghi almeno 100 gauss di potenza di campo magnetico. Al di sotto di questo livello, l’efficacia del trattamento diminuisce.

How long can you use magnetotherapy?

La durata del trattamento varia in base alle caratteristiche della macchina, in particolare alla potenza in gauss. È consigliato attenersi alle istruzioni riportate nel manuale d’uso e, in generale, non effettuare più di una sessione al giorno.

Is there evidence to prove the effectiveness of magnetotherapy against osteoporosis?

2. Products and availability

All products visible on the site are accurately described. However, we cannot guarantee that the images displayed are fully representative of the actual features.
Product availability is constantly updated, but may change in real time.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are in Euro, including VAT where applicable.
MIA MEDICAL ITALIA accepts the following payment methods:

• Credit/debit card
• Advance bank transfer
• Marking (where applicable)

The order will only be processed after receipt of payment (except cash on delivery).

4. Shipping and delivery

Delivery times vary between 2 and 5 working days, except in cases of force majeure.
Shipping is free where specified and only in Rome and Florence for devices requiring specific installation, otherwise it costs between €10 and €20.
Any delays cannot be attributed directly to MIA MEDICAL ITALIA, but to the couriers in charge.

5. Exclusion of Liability for Non-Delivery or Withdrawal

MIA MEDICAL ITALY shall not be liable in the event of non-delivery or delay due to:

• Absence of the addressee at the given address, even in the case of delivery agreed with the courier company;
• Incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer;
• Failure on the part of the customer, at the time of delivery, to indicate 'acceptance with reservation'on the receipt or on the courier's PDA in the event of a damaged or suspect parcel.

In such cases, any costs for storage, redelivery or new shipment shall be borne by the customer.

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure his or her presence at the agreed delivery time and to check the integrity of the package before accepting it. In the absence of 'acceptance with reservation', it will not be possible to open claims for transport damage.

6. Product Damaged on Delivery

The customer is obliged to check the condition of the outer packaging upon delivery. In the presence of visible anomalies (damaged, wet, opened package, etc.), it is mandatory to sign with "ACCEPT WITH RESTRICTION".specifying the reason (e.g. 'damaged packaging').

If the customer accepts delivery without reservation and subsequently reports damage to the device, MIA MEDICAL ITALIA disclaims all liabilitysince the damage cannot be imputed with certainty to the transport.

Any damage not visible at the time of delivery must be reported by email to [email protected] no later than 48 hours after receipt of the product, enclosing photos and a detailed description of the problem.

After that time, no complaints or replacement requests for transport damage can be accepted.

7. Right of withdrawal and returns

Pursuant to Legislative Decree 206/2005 (Consumer Code), the customer has the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days from the date of receipt of the product, without giving reasons.

Exceptions to the right of withdrawal:

In accordance with Art. 59 of the Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply in the case of rental of medical devicesas it is provision of services relating to the supply of goods that are customised or clearly intended for a specific and urgent usefor which the law does not provide a right of withdrawal.

General Conditions for Withdrawal (Purchase of Goods):

• The product must be undamaged, unused and returned in its original packaging.
• Sealed items that have been opened or used (e.g. disposable or skin contact devices) cannot be returned.
• The customer is responsible for the return shipping costs.

Withdrawal procedure (only for non-excluded purchases):

1. Send a written communication to:[email protected]indicating the order number and the reason for return.
2. After authorisation, you will receive instructions on how to proceed.
3. The refund will be made within 14 days of receipt and verification of the returned product.

8. Security deposit for equipment rental

For the rental of medical devices, MIAMEDICAL ITALIA requires a security deposit the amount of which varies depending on the type of equipment rented. The amount of the deposit is communicated upon confirmation of the order.

Deposit Conditions:

• The deposit is mandatory and must be paid before the device is shipped.
• It is fully returned within 4 working days the return of the device, subject to technical verification.
• The technical inspection is carried out by our competent department to ensure that the equipment is intact, functional and complete with all accessories.

In case of damage, tampering, lack of accessories or abnormal wear of the device, MIAMEDICAL ITALIA reserves the right to retain part or the entire amount of the depositby notifying the customer in writing.

9. Legal Guarantees

All products sold are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity provided for in Articles 128-135 of the Consumer Code.
In the event of a defective or non-conforming product, MIA MEDICAL ITALIA undertakes to replace or refund.

10. Limitation of liability

MIA MEDICAL ITALIA shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damage resulting from improper use of the products sold or from causes not directly attributable to the company.

11. Applicable law and jurisdiction

These Conditions are governed by Italian law.
For any dispute the competent court shall be the court of the place of residence or domicile of MIA MEDICAL ITALIA SRL.
