With<br \/>a walker for elderly people, suitable for both indoor and<br \/>outside, you will be greatly facilitated. Which one to choose depends, among other things,<br \/>by how you wish to use it.<\/h6>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reason for buying a walker is to get <strong>more stability and security<br \/>in the movement<\/strong>. To choose the right one, you have to answer four simple<br \/>questions:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Where will you mainly use the walker?<\/li>\r\n<li>You have little space at home, or you often travel by car, by bus, on the<br \/>train or plane?<\/li>\r\n<li>Do you tire easily during your walks and hikes?<\/li>\r\n<li>Which walker is suitable for your build (height, weight, etc.)?<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"dove-userai-il-deambulatore\">Where will you use the walker?<\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you need to use your walker mainly indoors,<br \/>you could choose a <strong>rollator walker<\/strong> for indoor use or a <strong>walker<br \/>for the elderly<\/strong>. For<br \/>to achieve the low weight of this product, components and<br \/>lightweight materials such as, for example, aluminium or carbon.<br \/>Sometimes people think that an aluminium or carbon walker is less robust<br \/>than a steel one. These materials are more than durable and sufficient to<br \/>s<strong>or bear persons weighing up to 140 kg<\/strong>. They offer the advantage of weighing only 5 to 8<br \/>kg. In addition, the design is often more modern and attractive.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ti-stanchi-facilmente-quando-cammini\">Do you tire easily when walking?<\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rollator walker is intended for outdoor use, where it is more complicated to find<br \/>places to sit. If you get tired quickly during your walk,<br \/>you should prefer a <strong>rollator walker with seat<\/strong>or<br \/>a <strong>2in1 hybrid walker<\/strong>which can be converted into a wheelchair.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Have you ever walked so much that you thought you couldn't do<br \/>even one step further? So it will no longer be a problem<br \/>walk with a rollator or choose to sit like in a wheelchair, and you can<br \/>so you can spend a nice day in the city: you can stroll around the historic centre,<br \/>rest in your wheelchair while enjoying the lush park and then walk of<br \/>back to that nice restaurant you had your eye on, to conclude this<br \/>interesting and challenging day.<br \/>Make sure the seat is strong and wide enough and can support your<br \/>weight.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"quale-deambulatore-e-adatto-alla-tua-corporatura\">Which walker is suitable for your build?<\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When choosing a walker for independent movement, you must ensure that<br \/>has the correct size for you. If you do not consider this carefully,<br \/>you will probably end up with a rollator walker, which does not meet your<br \/>needs. What you have to take into account when choosing a walker is the<br \/>your height and weight.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7619\" src=\"https:\/\/www.miamedicalitalia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/immagine.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Your height (A):<\/strong><br \/>Many walkers are equipped with a seat, so you can sit down to rest when<br \/>you get tired after a long journey, or while shopping. The height<br \/>of the seat is usually not adjustable, so to have a comfortable seat, where the<br \/>your feet touch the ground, it is important to consider the height of the seat, whose<br \/>measurement starts from the ground.<br \/><br \/>To best manoeuvre your walker, maintaining a correct posture of the<br \/>body, the handles must be in the correct position. If a walker<br \/>rollator is height-adjustable, meaning that you can also adjust the height<br \/>of the handles. The biggest problems are usually related to people who are quite tall,<br \/>who may need extensions to grasp the handles so<br \/>optimal.<br \/><br \/>Whichever walking aid you choose, it is very important to<br \/>assess the dimensions in relation to your height.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are the steps to choose the right size for you:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Wear the walking shoes you usually use.<\/li>\r\n<li>Stand upright and keep your arm in a natural position, resting on your side.<\/li>\r\n<li>Ask someone to take <strong>the measurement from your wrist to the floor (B)<\/strong>. This measurement corresponds to the height of the walker handle. The height, in most rollator walkers, is adjustable, but you should check if your size is within the adjustable range.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Your weight (D):<\/strong><br \/>We have already seen how size is important when choosing the<br \/>walkers. The width and weight aspect, in turn, are as binding as<br \/>of height.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many walkers are equipped with a seat, so you can sit down to rest.<br \/>The seat width must be aligned with your build: if the seat<br \/>too narrow in relation to your hips, <strong>you will not be able to sit during your<br \/>walk (C).<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, the width of the seat is crucial for your weight. An object that is too<br \/>small, for those with an abundant build, can also create problems in<br \/>fact of safety. The maximum weight is always indicated in the data sheet.<br \/>An XL rollator walker or bariatric walker is recommended when the<br \/>weight exceeds 130 kg.
